Have you ever needed a friendly and colourful way to explain to your young child why you carry dangerous weaponry around them? No?

Well, these American writers have decided to address this important issue with their new book My Parents Open Carry.

The book aims to explain the United States’ Second Amendment rights and why it’s actually a brilliant idea to have a gun while going about your day.

It comes as a reaction to the increasing number of shops and restaurants in America that ask their customers to leave their guns at home.

The book’s synopsis invites us to “join 13-year-old Brenna Strong along with her mom, Bea, and her dad, Richard, as they spend a typical Saturday running errands and having fun together.”

“What's not so typical is that Brenna's parents lawfully open carry handguns for self-defense.”

The authors, Brian Jeffs and Nathan Nephew, are the co-founders of the pro-gun group Michigan Open Carry. When asked why they decided to make this book they explained that they “looked for pro-gun children's books and couldn't find any.”
