It's tough being grounded. But for this little girl, it was harder again, as she was grounded indefinitely. And what she had to do to get 'ungrounded' was not easy!
Young Cassidy’s parents strict method of punishment has been doing the rounds on Reddit, and it involves earning a whopping 500 points by completing a list of household chores. And some are only worth measly 10 points each!
“Congratulations! You got grounded!,” the note reads. “To get ungrounded, you must earn 500 points.”
What follows is a list of chores that range from taking out the rubbish to sweeping the kitchen floor.
Time-consuming chores such as doing the laundry was worth 100 points, while scrubbing the bathroom sink was worth just 10.
The list of chores was extensive, but there were options for Cassidy to earn points simply by being nice.
Writing a ‘nice letter’ to a family member or friend was worth 10 points, while helping a relative with their homework was worth 20.
The list was shared on the Facebook page Life of Dad, prompting many parents to share their own punishment methods.
This is not the first time parents have shared their unique form of punishment online.
One father, believed to be from the US, restricted his child's internet access and cut off their phone plan in a hilarious letter he wrote based on Liam Neeson's famous speech in the Hollywood blockbuster Taken.
In the note, which featured a photo of Liam Neeson, the dad wrote: 'I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want.
“If you are looking for a maid to clear up for you, I can tell you I don't do that.”
