Despite the thousands of publications and ads demonstrating the inequality of men and women in the workplace and the need for change, it sometimes takes the logic of kids to really realised how wrong something is.

In honour of International Woman's Day, Norwegian financial trade union called Finansforbundet created an ad showing pairs of children, one boy and one girl.

In the unscripted video, the children are asked to pick up pink and blue balls and put them in two buckets. They laugh and work with each other, quickly filling up the buckets.

"Now it's time for your reward," they're told, holding out their hands expectedly.

They each get jars with candy, except the boys get a full jar and the girls only get a half-filled jar.

"We did the same job, but we didn't get the same amount." says one girl called Felicia.

"She was just as good as me, so we should get the same reward," explains a young boy named Ask. "Otherwise it's unfair."

Then, without being prompted the boys start to share their sweets with the girls, making sure the jars are equal.

"Unequal pay is unacceptable in the eyes of children," the ad concludes. "Why should we accept this as adults?"

The simplicity and kindness of children truly illustrated the need for equal pay for equal work.
