Homework is not just tough on kids, mums are also given a hard time when they are called on to give a helping hand.

And while we love seeing our little ones learning something new, there is nothing quite like primary school homework to make you feel like you need to go back to class!

Is it wrong to Google everything?

Google is our friend - our best friend - at homework time, but sometimes we wish we could look something up without our darlings knowing that we didn't know the answer ourselves. Just once!

Seriously, did I learn anything at school?

Our school days can feel like a life time ago when faced with a question on Algebra or even grammar! How could we have spent so much time in a classroom and then forget it all so easily – oh, how we wish we’d taken notes!

What does this even mean?

Trying to decipher the homework is the first hurdle. With so many of the assignments written in some kind of code it always takes us at least an hour or two to understand what needs to be done!

Was the teacher having a rough day?

We have complete and utter respect for teachers, we wouldn’t like to spend five hours teaching our own kids never mind someone else's, but when the homework takes more than an hour, we are allowed question if the teacher was having a bad day, aren’t we?!

We coped pretty well without the internet in our day

These days, you can’t complete your homework without having to look up the internet for one thing or another! Ok, we know it's teaching our kids how to search responsibly, but when we have two children who absolutely need to go online at exactly the same time, all hell breaks loose!

The days of Encarta are long gone

Remember when Encarta was the place to look up anything? And you could do so without the fear of inappropriate ad pop ups? Yeah, we miss those days too!
