Remember the days when you used to wish your kid wouldn’t wake up at the crack of dawn? Now, that your little one is a tween, it probably requires all your morning energy just to drag him out of bed. So, what’s changed? The reason your tween never wants to go to bed and wants to sleep until late afternoon is because their body’s internal clocks are telling them to fall asleep later at night and sleep later in the day.Here are some tips to help get your tween up earlier in the morning:
 
Change their alarm. Who wants to wake up to the blaring sound of an alarm? Instead, set the alarm to play your tween’s favourite music about 15 minutes before he has to get up. This will help wake him gently.
 
Give him a good reason to get up.  Offer him his favourite breakfast or arrange a morning carpool with his best friend.
 
 Make it his responsibility. Explain to him that you know is mature enough to get up on his own, so you will call him only once. Then stick to it, many kids will love the independence. Others will quickly realise the consequences of being late for school if they don’t leave the house on time.
