Three-year-old Guy Fritzche is being hailed a hero after he saved his mum's life back in 2013.

The youngster was at home with his mum, Katie, when she had a seizure.

His dad was at work at the time and there was no one else around.

This was Katie's first seizure in seven years so Guy had never seen her in this situation.

But the little boy knew exactly what he had to do: call 911 and get help.

And that's exactly what he did.

In a video posted to YouTube by ABC15, you can hear the conversation between Guy and the operator - and it shows just how brave and incredibly calm the little boy is.

"Operator: 'What's going on with your mom?'

"Boy: 'My mum is not feeling better.'

"Operator: 'Your mum's not feeling better?'

"Boy: 'No'

"Boy: 'My mum is breathing so fast.'"

Explaining to the operator that his mum's "whole body is wriggling", Guy remained calm as he described what was wrong with her.

And it was thanks to his quick-thinking that saved his mum's life.

To show just how brave he is, Mesa Fire and Medical Department honoured the little boy with a special award as well as a little fire truck and a red hat.

"He was a hero for a little three-year-old guy that was able to take a very scary situation and do the right thing," his mum told the publication.

Wow, well done, Guy - was a very brave little boy.
