Introducing Halloween to your baby can be the start of a fun family tradition. But of course, you have to take precautionary measure to make sure that the celebration is safe. Here are some tips on how you can keep your Halloween celebration safe:

Start by practising fire safety and opt for costumes that are fire-resistant
Do not make your baby wear a costume that is too big for him or her. This is to prevent them from catching flames or from tripping.
Avoid giving your baby props that are pointed, spiky or hard, to avoid injuries. Remember that you will be walking outside at night and these types of props can be dangerous.
Masks are not recommended for young children as these can cause suffocation. Aside from that, masks that are very frightening might even scare a baby.
Do not let your child help you with the carving of the pumpkin as this can be too risky. You may let them draw the eyes and nose for the pumpkin instead.
Trick-or-treating can be very fun but make sure to check your child’s sweet collection and get rid of the ones that might not be safe.
