After an interview with the expectant mum, HELLO! Magazine has announced that Princess Charlene of Monaco is expecting twins.

Charlene and her husband Albert II of Monaco revealed they were expecting their first child together in May this year. The former Olympic swimmer is due to give birth before the end of the year.

The couple are very excited about their upcoming arrivals, with Charlene saying “I want motherhood very much, but everything is in God's hands.”

“As a couple we have been through many difficult moments and profound changes in our personal lives, but being together has always been a challenge that has brought us together," she said. "I have boundless confidence in our love.”

"Prince Albert is my husband, but he has also always been my best friend, and has been able to help me overcome obstacles that seemed insurmountable.”

While the twins will be Charlene’s first children, Albert, who is the son of Grace Kelly, has two older children with other women.

He has a 22-year-old daughter, Jasmine Grace Grimaldi, and an 11-year-old son, Alexandre Coste. As they were born outside of marriage, Jasmine and Alexandre have no rights to the Monegasque throne. However they are cared for financially by Albert and will inherit a portion of their father’s personal fortune.
