Labour MP Jo Cox has died from injuries sustained in an attack earlier today, police have confirmed.
The mother of two was shot multiple times - including once in the head - as she spoke to locals in Birstall near Leeds this afternoon.

Despite being airlifted to hospital, her life could not be saved.
Her grieving husband Brendan had earlier tweeted an image of his wife - a photograph which was then shared thousands of times.

Just yesterday, 41-year-old Ms Cox shared with her own Twitter followers a picture of Brendan and their two young children, believed to be aged five and three, on the Thames.
A 52-year-old man has been arrested in connection with her death. He has been named locally as Tommy Mair, according to theguardian.com.
Ms Cox was elected to the seat of Batley and Spen during last year's general election. She was furthermore national chair of the Labour Women's Network, and had worked for Save The Children and the NSPCC.
