If you found a wallet stuffed with almost a thousand quid, what would you do?

 

It was a no-brainer for three kids in Aurora, Colorado when they stumbled upon the cash. 

 

Jamie Carlton’s son had dropped his wallet outside of his car in the driveway of their home.

 

And in the wallet was $700 in cash. 

 

This is when 13-year-old Haylie Wenke, her 6-year-old brother Reagan, and their friend Ashley Dayton came to find it.

 

 

They group had been had been heading to a water park o their bikes when they spotted the small leather object on the ground.

 

They immediately decided to drop it into the house so they walked up and rang the doorbell.

 

When the security system asked them to leave a message, they explained their story.

 

In the footage that Jamie uploaded to Facebook, Haylie can be seen saying, 'we found your wallet outside of your car and we just thought we would give it back to you. I’m going to put it over here so no takes any money.”

 

 

In his Facebook post honouring their honesty, Jamie wrote,'' if this doesn't’t renew or at least refresh your faith in humanity, you need help. These kids are amazing…Their parents should be so proud of them.”

 

According to the Good News Network, Haylie and her friends didn't think very much of their good deed, saying, '' we just thought it would be a good thing to do. It just feels good because we really didn't need the money. So we just decided to give it back.”

 

So far, the post has 5.7k likes, almost 500 comments and 4k shares. 

 

Comments range from, ''The kids Americans NEED to be raising to make this world a better place. Great job to the parents!'' to ''kindness doesn't’t cost a thing, but remains a rarity. Great stuff kids'' and ''this made me smile big, thank you for sharing. Good job munchkin's and good job parents!!''
