Ahmed Dawabsha and his family were sleeping in their home when it was firebombed by extremists last July.

Two men have since been caught and charged with arson, but the attack took Ahmed's entire family and has left him with nobody.

While nothing can take away his pain, or reunite him with his parents, one small gesture managed to put a smile on the little one's face.

Over the past few days, Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has been working closely with the Palestinian Football Association's head Jibril Rajoub, who himself welcomed the news as:

"a superb humanitarian gesture by Real Madrid, its administration and Cristiano Ronaldo, who are restoring hope for a child who lost his entire family."

It's hoped that more Palestinian kids will have a chance to meet their idols later this year.

Ahmed's granddad Hussein is his only surviving relative, and he said that the club have also offered a tour of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, which will take place this weekend.

Little Ahmed is reportedly very excited. Aww.

You can watch the wonderful moment that Ahmed met his hero below.
