This month was a particularly tough one for mum-of-two Heather Nock.

From medical problems to money issues and even a break-in, nothing seemed to be going right for her and her family.

So a stranger’s recent act of kindness at a supermarket couldn’t have come at a better time. Heather brought her kids to her local Walmart in Pennsylvania earlier this week, hoping to get them new booster seats and new clothes.

But she quickly realised that her finances weren’t going to stretch very far.

Standing in the girls’ clothing section, Heather told the kids “I can either get the booster seats this week or some new clothes, but I can’t afford both and I’m sorry,” promising them that next week she’d have the cash.

Her kids sulked a bit, but essentially accepted it, and that was that. Or so Heather thought.

But about fifteen minutes later, a man named Matthew approached her holding Walmart bags. Inside were the booster seats her kids had their eyes on.

Incredibly, Matthew had bought the seats for her kids after overhearing Heather’s dilemma.

“He told me that he heard the sadness in my voice when I told the kids I couldn’t afford both this week,” she wrote on the Love What Matters’ Facebook page.

“And then he told me God bless and gave me a hug.”

In shock at the time, Heather let him go without getting his name but she later tracked him down, got chatting to him and even nabbed a photo of her “hero.”

“We got a picture and another hug and his name. God bless this young man, Matthew!” she wrote. “When you think there is nothing left to feel good about, this happens. Just remember there are good people in this world so never lose your faith.”

She ended her post with a reminder for readers that doing little things for each other will make the world a better place.

“Remember to always pay it forward. So as soon as I can, I will. Thank you, Matthew!”
