A 26-year old barber who has built a new life for himself after battling addiction is now devoted to helping those in need.

Melbourne, Australia-based Nasir Sobhani hops on his skateboard and spends his only day off each week cutting the hair of homeless people as a part of his initiative ‘Clean Cut, Clean Start’.

“I remember the days of when I used to just hate myself, and not even look in the mirror without crying because I would just be so disgusted at who I was,” he says. “And I find that embedded within a lot of my street clients. They feel so ashamed of who they are.”

Through his amazing initiative he’s giving people their dignity back, as well as providing them with much-needed human interaction. The simple act of being treated to a haircut makes a huge difference to them, says Nasir – and can even encourage them to feel hopeful again.

Nasir has shared his incredible story in the PLGRM documentary ‘The Streets Barber’ which you can watch below.
