Last week, Hollie Breaux Mallet posted footage from her home security camera on Facebook.
In the video, you can see a little boy flinging his bike down and running into the Louisiana woman’s garage…and what he does next will melt your heart.
He gives Hollie’s dog a massive, love-drenched cuddle! Then he runs off, hops back on his bike and leaves.
Touchingly, this isn’t a one-off event. He regularly stops by to show the love to her pampered pooch.
Amazed by his kindness but worried that he didn’t feel welcome, Hollie took to social media to try and connect with the boy and let him know how much she – and her doggy – appreciate his visits.
“Anyone know who this sweet little boy is?,” she wrote on Facebook.
“Every now and then when he rides his bike he will quickly come and love on my dog or play fetch real quick, but always leaves like he doesn’t know if he should be here!”
“I’d like to tell him he’s welcome to stay and play, she loves the attention!”
The adorable video was shared some 11,000 times and it wasn’t long before it found its way to the boy’s mother. She revealed that the serial dog-hugger is nine-year-old Josh Breaux.
“Josh talks about your dog all the time,” she wrote on Facebook. “Every time we pass he looks to see if she was sitting where he could see her. Just didn’t know he was doing things like this.”
And now for the bittersweet part. It turns out little Josh lost his own dog last year, and the family haven’t felt ready to get another one yet.
But until Josh gets a new pooch, Hollie is more than happy for him to hang with hers. Josh actually met Hollie last week, and of course her dog joined them for a photo.
