Which parent gets to stay in bed while the other tends to the kiddiwinks is a much sleepily debated topic, sorted out amongst couples in a wide variety of ways. It involves bribes, pleas, and promises that we’ll do it ‘next time’.

But now a new study has answered the prayers of women everywhere – we now have solid scientific proof that MUM should be the one to sleep in. And who can argue with science? Ahm, no one.

Yep, a study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism on the effect of sleep on diabetes showed that when women sleep in it may help protect them against diabetes, but if men sleep in it might increase their risk of diabetes.

You know, so when we’re asking (read: nudging forcibly) our partners to get up while we snoozey snooze, we’re really only doing it because we care deeply about their health and welfare…

Now up you get daddies!
