Attorney Dillon Norton is about to become a father for he first time- to his wife's 11-year-old daughter.
In an emotional video posted to Love What Matters, Norton's step-daughter Bella gives him a very special box.
Inside is a letter, and adoption paperwork.
Mrs Norton, who shared the video, explained that Bella's biological father was never in the picture.
However, she was fortunate enough to meet Dillon when she was still a toddler. The couple got married this year, leaving Bella wondering if she could also take his name.
"This Christmas she came to me on her own and asked if Dillon could adopt her," she wrote. "So, I was shocked when she asked me because we have never pushed the issue."
She then used her new husband's connections to get a friend and fellow attorney to draw up the adoption paperwork.
"Dear Dad, I love you so much." Bella's letter begins. "You have always been there for me and I am so grateful for that."
"I want to tell you something, I've been thinking about this for a while. Will you adopt me please?"
His reaction would melt even the coldest of hearts. "Of course, I will"
