A Northampton mum has spoken of her daughter’s fear, after she was chased by a ‘masked’ man hiding in wait behind a car last weekend.

According to a report in the Northampton Chronicle, the 12-year-old was roller-skating by Narrow Boat Lane, Pineham Locks, when the man jumped out from behind a car. His face was covered with a bandana from beneath the eyes down.

The incident occurred at 4pm, last Sunday, April 10.

The girl has told how the man chased her down the road, only stopping and running away when he reached a public area with passers-by. The child’s mother admitted that, only for the fact that the girl was on roller-skates and heading downhill, events may have taken a more sinister turn.

The suspect is described as a white male aged between 18 and 20, of skinny build, with short, dark-blonde hair. He is said to be around 5ft 8in in height, with a piercing in one eyebrow. When the incident occurred, he was wearing a black hoodie, grey tracksuit bottoms and black trainers/shoes.

Appealing for others in the area to be vigilant, the child's mother told the local publication: “When she got home she was shaking and crying. She was very upset, and I have taken her to school and picked her up.”

Anyone who may have been in the vicinity when the incident took place, who may be able to help police with their investigation, is asked to get in touch with authorities on 101.
