Growing up in a world where our every move is documented and scrutinised on social media can take its toll on a child, which is why they need our encouragement and support when they’re going out into the world.

Little Phoebe Arnold need not worry, however, as her father Danny – the latest online sensation – will always have her back.

Danny, 29, has won hearts all over the internet this week, after a photo of him dressed up as Superman alongside his three-year-old daughter – who is dressed as Batman – went viral.

It seems Phoebe was a little nervous at the prospect of the teasing she could encounter for wearing a ‘boy’s costume’ on her Merseyside school’s Superhero Day, but Danny was quick to step in and offer up some moral support.

In his original Facebook post, Danny explained: “I gave Phoebe her superhero outfit this morning for her school ‘superhero day’, but she refused to put it on because she was afraid of being different. She said she felt silly. So I put my kit on so she wouldn’t be alone.”

“Your children should never feel silly – or if they do, not care about doing so! Too many people these days concern themselves with how other people think about them – even complete strangers. Do whatever makes you smile, and live a little,” he added.

Since sharing the photo, it has become a hit online, with parents everywhere applauding both his gesture and his positive message.

SHARE to spread Danny’s empowering message – every child should know that there’s nothing wrong with being different.
