By now, many of you will have heard about the tragedy that befell the family of MMA fighter Marcus Kowal this week.

The sportsman’s 15-month-old son, Liam, passed away after being struck by drunk-driver Donna Marie Higgins' car on Saturday. At the time, Liam was in his buggy, which was being pushed by his teenage aunt.

Despite best efforts to save Liam’s life, he died in the intensive care unit in hospital, and a devastated Marcus confirmed the tragic news on Facebook.

While many would choose to grieve in total privacy, Marcus took to his social media channels today to send out a very important message: never drink and drive.

In the 30-second-long clip – recorded just hours after saying his final goodbye to his son – the distraught father tells viewers: “I’m not a paid actor. This is not a commercial. This is reality. What I’m going to say is: don’t drink and drive. Don’t let a friend drink and drive. Please.”

As you can imagine, followers have flocked to the Facebook page both to pay their respects and to share Marcus’ important message.

We can’t imagine what he and his family are going through right now. They are in our thoughts and prayers.

SHARE to spread Marcus’ important message.
