The issue of consent has come to the fore of discussions in recent times, and rightly so; however, bringing babies into the conversation is definitely taking things too far.

Unfortunately, nobody told this to the team behind clothing website LookHuman.com, which has come under fire for featuring a ‘consent babygro’.

The babygro, currently on sale on the website, features the words: “If you wanna be my lover you gotta get my consent.”

The slogan is available to print across a range of adult clothes too, with the Look Human team urging wears to ‘use the power of glittering ‘90s nostalgia to punch the patriarchy square in the junk’.

It didn’t take long for word of the babygro to spread, with people from every corner of the internet branding it as wholly inappropriate.

One of the first to raise concern was a writer from website mic.com, who described dressing a baby in clothing bearing such a slogan as the equivalent of ‘using your child as a billboard for paedophilia’.

Once word spread on social media, Twitter users were also quick to share their confusion and disappointment.

“Consent is an important issue, but in a babygro? What the hell is wrong with some people?” tweeted one woman, summing up the general consensus on the issue.

Well, what are your thoughts?
