There have been so many terrifying reports of late, documenting abductions and attempted abductions of children and young people, and this latest story is absolutely chilling.

A man who attempted to groom a 14-year-old girl over the internet has been jailed for 12 months after being caught by a group of vigilantes named Dark Justice.

Two men from the group posed as the teenager online, with 57-year-old John Rudd going on to exchange messages with the pretend girl named Donna.

Rudd even went so far as to arrange a meeting with ‘Donna’ at Gateshead, asking her over social media not to wear any underwear.

However, Rudd was in for a nasty shock when he arrived at the scheduled location, to find out that Donna was in fact two members of Dark Justice.

The men recorded the exchange with Rudd, who responded to their accusations by saying that he knew his actions were wrong and that he “shouldn’t really have been doing it”.

As he walked away, the two men were heard telling Rudd that they would be passing their evidence over to the police, who would be calling to his house.

It has since emerged that Rudd was arrested shortly after and sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court to a year in prison.

This story just serves to further highlight the importance of teaching your children about stranger danger, both in everyday life and online.
