We regularly report on stories of children who are called out for their ‘inappropriate’ dress, but we wonder what those people would have to say about the newest and most unusual product on sale in the world of baby fashion.

An inventive baby fashion designer in the States has designed a range of ‘baby high heels’, leaving mums and dads all over the world absolutely baffled.

Pee Wee Pumps, based in Pennsylvania, is selling its range of ‘crib shoes’ for around $35 per pair, and just take a look at them below.

.

On their website, the manufacturers write: “Your little princess will be the belle of the ball with her first fashion statement in her Pee Wee Pumps crib shoes. They’re just like mom’s favourite pair of pumps only in a miniature size.”

While the shoes are constructed in the traditional soft baby shoe style, with a collapsible heel, mums’ reactions to these unusual creations have ranged from utter bewilderment to anger.

One angry mum took to Twitter to blast the company, writing: “Shockingly distasteful. Sexualising babies? What is the world coming to – they are little people, not dolls.”

Meanwhile, another observed: “Pee Wee Pumps – ensures your daughter knows she’s for decoration before she can talk! Only 30 pieces of silver.”
