When you are pregnant, you will no doubt be inundated by well wishers asking about your progress and your general health. Unfortunately, some of these well wishers can be particularly annoying.

Here are ten things that someone will no doubt say that will cause you to grind your teeth:

"Are you STILL pregnant?"
Seriously, the fact that you have a particularly large bump in front of you should be enough to quell these types of questions. You’d think so anyway. Try not to reply with "No, I just decided to walk around with a pillow up my jumper and leave my baby at home".

"When I was pregnant..."
A sentence that starts like this will no doubt send you into a spiralling spin of frustration as you try to reign in any snaps. Comparing their pregnancy to yours is kind of like comparing a baby monkey to a cub. Every expectant mother is different.

"Wow, you’re huge"
No doubt you are well aware of just how big you are. Having someone tell you this is not necessary nor is it particularly nice.

"Do you think you should be eating that?"
Everyone suddenly becomes a doctor when they are around you.

"Was it a shock?"
How rude. Whether the pregnancy was or wasn’t planned is nobody’s business. Some people just don’t know when to stay quiet.

"Your life will never be the same again"
Stating the obvious is starting to become pretty common. Just stand there and cry. This will make them feel awkward and wish they had never said anything.

"How many are in there?"
This one is certainly on par with ‘wow, you’re huge’. Just tell them you don’t know, the doctors are still counting.

"It must be comfy in there"
This one is particularly annoying when you are two weeks overdue and ready to explode. Although to be fair, anything anyone says at this stage makes you want to yell.

"Have you thought of [...] for a name?"
Get used to people trying to name your baby, it will never go away - even when you have registered the birth.

"Are you, ahem, leaking"
Having a weak pelvic floor and a baby pushing down on your bladder can often lead to leaks.
