It is clear that mothers and daughters are incredibly close and connected, but there is also no denying that dads and their little girls have a truly special bond with each other.

While both parents do a great job of teaching their kids important life lessons, there are a certain number of things that dads teach their little girls.

With Father's Day just around the corner, we thought it only fitting to share the ten things fathers teach their girls.

1. That they are a princess, if they want to be

Every little girl is Daddy’s Little Princess whether they like dresses and crowns or playing football in the rain.

2. That they’re tough

And with a little hard work and effort they can achieve anything they want.

3.That no guy will ever be good enough

No guy will ever be good enough for their little girl, but as long as they are happy then Dad is happy too.

4. She deserves a man who will treat her well

You can never change a bad guy – nor should you bother trying.

5. How to drive

Most of us mums remember our own dads nearly pulling their hair out as they tried to teach us how to go from second to third gear.

6. How a lady should be treated

Daddies worship the ground their little darlings walk on, and show that every man should treat them the same.

7. How to change a flat tyre

And in doing so teach independence and self-reliance.

8. That there are no such things as ‘men-only jobs’

Stereotypical ‘male jobs’ no longer have a place in modern society; men are well able to cook, mind the kids and fix a car at the same time.

9. And there are no such things as 'women-only' jobs

Holding down jobs and a family while climbing the career ladder and fixing the car at the same time proves there is no ‘woman-only’ role.

10. To treat a man with respect

Men and women all deserve to be treated with the same amount of respect.
