The NHS has had to pay-out a whopping £70 million to parents who were not told of their children’s disabilities before birth.

The parents in question say that if they were presented with all the facts, they would have terminated the pregnancies.

16 families are said to have received pay-outs of £2.5 million from the NHS Litigation Authority and another who received £40 million.

The births are known as “wrongful births”, a term that many have found huge issue with.

Director of the Christian Legal Centre, Andrea Williams said of the decision:

“It is not wrongful that babies are born with a disability.

“It is wrongful that taxpayers are funding a culture which sees disabled children as an inconvenience,” she told the Sunday Times.
