There’s no doubt new mums will experience many changes when they welcomed a child into the world, both mentally and physically.
Our body changes a lot during pregnancy, but that doesn’t come to a halt once we give birth. It continues to surprise us with new changes as we adapt to life as a mum.
We notice new stretch marks and irritating spots on our face and even though these changes are normal they can knock your confidence.
Abbey Clancey opened up about post-pregnancy hair loss in an eye-opening interview with OK! Magazine.
The mum bravely discussed the effect it had on her and her honesty is a breath of fresh air.
She admitted: “It was really scary – every time I got a shower, there was just clumps of hair coming out.”
“Every time I brushed my hair, it would fall out. It happened throughout my pregnancy, and after giving birth. I was just thinking ‘when is this going to stop? Am I going to be left with any hair?’
The Strictly Come Dancing star said that at the end of the day the hair loss didn’t matter because she had a new bundle of joy to look after.
“It was scary, but the things we go through to have our lovely babies. You’d give your whole head of hair to have a healthy baby. But for anyone, hair loss can be a very scary thing,” she confessed.
The mum said she really suffered in her pregnancies, “Everything that could go wrong with your appearance, did.”
Abbey has three children with her husband Peter Crouch, seven-year-old Sophia, three-year-old Liberty and Johnny who was born in January.
