A Michigan couple have said that their baby is thriving after being born four weeks premature in a church car park.

Jordon and Erin Peeple had only left for the hospital ten minutes previous when they were forced to pull over and call for help, with their son already well on his way.

Having rang the emergency services, dad Jordon was talked through the birthing process, and delivered the couple’s son, Cam, in the front seat of their car.

Cam, who was born breech, weighed 4lb 3oz.

The first responders arrived on the scene several minutes after Cam’s birth, and the family were brought to a nearby hospital.

Speaking after Cam’s birth, mum Erin expressed her joy and relief: “You think about all the things that could have went wrong with delivering in a car, delivering a breech baby, and a preemie baby that.”

She added: “He’s proved a lot of people wrong. He’s beaten a lot of odds, that’s for sure. We’re happy.”

Wow, what a story. Congratulations to the family.
