Budget retailer Wilko has recalled a children’s doll range because of fears it contains high levels of phthalates.
The Sparkle Girlz dolls are said to possibly contain the acid, phthalates which can be dangerous if placed in the mouth.
The retailer is asking customers to return Sparkle Girlz Winter Princess Dolls as soon as possible.
A Wilko spokesman said:
“We’ve recently become aware of a potential safety issue with our Sparkle Girlz Winter Princess Doll.
"We have identified that this product contains higher than expected levels of phthalates and consequently may present a risk to children if placed in the mouth, therefore it does not meet our strict safety requirements.
"Nothing matters more to us than our customers' safety - so if you've purchased this product from us, please return it to any of our stores for a full refund of the purchase price."
Although there is only one doll mentioned, the warning is said to apply to all varieties of the doll.
