Frightening CCTV footage has emerged showing a would-be attacker chasing a woman through a train station in Birmingham.
The British Transport Police have today released the footage in the hope of identifying and locating the man from the video, who is said to be ‘at large’ and believed to be behind a string of sexual assaults in the area.
In this particular incident, from Selly Oaks Station, the man is seen pursuing and then chasing a young female student. He is said to have then tried to get into her car.
The suspect – who is set to be featured on Crimewatch – is described as being Chinese, aged between 20 and 30, and wearing a blue padded jacket at the time of this assault, from September 2015.
According to The Birmingham Mail, authorities are keen to identify the man and have appealed to the public to come forward if they feel they could help in any way with the investigation.
Detective Inspector Roger Trimble, of the British Transport Police, said: “I am sure someone out there knows who he is. We hope issuing it again - in light of the other assaults - will prick someone’s conscience and move them to do the right thing.”
“What if it were your sister or daughter who had been assaulted? Just one call could make the difference and help us get justice for these women,” he added.
Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with the West Midlands Police on 101. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
