In another twist in the Hatchimal saga, according to one dad, his child’s Hatchimal is saying, “F**k me” in its sleep.
Canadian George Galego told CTV Vancouver Island that he is “pretty sure” his son’s toy is uttering the profane phrase.
If you don’t know what a Hatchimal is by now, frankly, we’re envious, but for the sake of this story, we’re going to have to tell you. So, to put it simply, it’s an egg that holds a bird-like creature inside. It hatches, and the Hatchimal progresses through life, a little like a Tamagotchi.
And just like the Tamagotchi, the Hatchimal was the crazy Christmas toy trend of this year – changing hands a ridiculous prices, so kids could get one safely under their tree.
However, the company who makes the toy, Spin Master, says there’s no way this little critter is using foul language.
“Hatchimals speak their own language made up of random sounds,” Anne Yourt told CTV Vancouver on behalf of Spin Master. “We can assure you that the Hatchimal is not saying anything inappropriate. The one in the video appears to be sleeping.”
Perhaps it’s because this little Hatchimal just can’t quite believe the fuss that surrounded it this Christmas? Because to be honest, we found ourselves muttering something quite similar at one point or another…
