MummyPages recently attended a preview screening of new family movie ‘Brave’ and we really enjoyed it. In our eyes, Disney Pixar can do no wrong, with classics like ‘Toy Story’, ‘UP’ and ‘Finding Nemo’. And ‘Brave’ certainly reaches the exceptionally high standard that Disney Pixar has set.

‘Brave’ is set in the highlands of Scotland where the impetuous Merida goes against tradition by refusing to take a husband. Merida (voiced by Kelly MacDonald) has won her own hand in marriage after beating three unappealing suitors in archery. However, her mother strongly disapproves of Merida’s actions and so she seeks the help of a local witch to change her fate.

What MummyPages really loved about the movie is the stunning visuals. The colours and Scottish scenery look amazing in 3D and it would encourage any viewer to take a trip to the Highlands of Scotland. Of course kids won’t find scenery too exciting, but what they will find exciting are the battles with giant beasts, gorgeous little baby bears, and magical adventures lead of the wonderful female lead.

Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman, and produced by Katherine Sarafian, ‘Brave’ is a grand adventure full of heart, memorable characters and signature Pixar humour that audiences of all ages around the world have come to eagerly expect. ‘Brave’, in UK cinemas now.
