In France, Pancake Tuesday is called "La Chandeleur" and takes place on February 2nd. On this day, most French families will make sweet or savoury crêpes for dinner and the parents will hold a coin in their hand while trying to flip a crêpe in the air! If the crêpe falls back flat on the pan, it means a prosperous year is a ahead.

Because we are never far when there are crêpes and/or pancakes involved, we are totally onboard with this Chandeleur tradition.

While a spoonful of sugar, jam or Nutella are more than enough to make us happy, we have found some recipes to mix things up a little and make this day one to remember!
