Yes, Spotify have gone and made a birthing playlist. But it's a bit questionable, in our opinions.

In fact, depending on your musical tastes, it might just put you off childbirth full stop.

The ‘birthing playlist’ was developed in consultation with obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Jacques Moritz from Manhattan’s New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

It’s safe to say Dr Moritz has got pretty middle-of-the-road tastes. Here’s the top 20 on his list:

1. Pearl Jam – Just Breathe

2. James Bay – Let It Go

3. Regina Spektor – Don’t Leave Me

4. Sigur Ros - Festival

5. Death Cab for Cutie – Transatlanticism

6. The Lumineers – Ho Hey

7. Norah Jones – Sunrise

8. Craft Spells – After the Moment

9. Xavier Rudd – Follow the Sun

10. Lucinda Williams – Fruits of my Labor

11. John Lennon – Beautiful Boy

12. Colbie Caillat – Capri

13. D’Angelo – Really Love

14. Milton Nascinemto – Nos Bailes Da Vida

15. Coldplay – Don’t Panic

16. Fleet Foxes – Your Protector

17. Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Maps

18. Kygo Maty Noyes – Stay

19. P!nk – Try

20. Muse - Starlight

Given that the playlist is just two hours and nine minutes long, it’s a fair assumption that he’s the optimistic sort.

With the average childbirth lasting between 12 and 24 hours, you’re going to need that playlist on repeat!

Let’s be honest, if we were a foetus forced to listen to Coldplay’s ‘Don’t Panic’ and U2’s ‘Without Or Without You on repeat, we might be tempted to stay in a bit longer.

Also, listening to Norah Jones will you’re trying to push the equivalent of a watermelon out of your vagina, may tip some soon-to-be mums over the edge.

And Bowie’s ‘Under Pressure’ might just be more tension than you can handle. But, who are we to judge? We’ll leave that to you.

Mums, what would you put on your birthing list? We have a few, not-very-serious suggestions below ourselves…

1.Ace of Bace - All That She Wants (is another baby)

2. Diana Ross – I’m Coming Out
