If you watched Planet Earth 2 last night, you were no doubt left a bubbling mess as you watched the tiny turtle hatchlings get lost as they tried to make their way to the sea.
i am too emotionally unstable to watch these baby turtles go the wrong way #planetearth2

The video explained that the bright lights of the city can actually confuse the babies into thinking they are walking towards the sea, when in fact they are crawling towards certain death as they try to cross busy roads and fall down drains.
And everyone was heartbroken at the thoughts of these turtles not making it into the sea.
I've never felt so emotional about turtle hatchlings before God damnit #planetearth2

City lights can be very disorientating for baby turtles #PlanetEarth2 pic.twitter.com/X3pzBy08bc

However, as everyone took to Twitter last night to express their sadness at the devastating loss, Planet Earth 2 also took to the social media site to let them know that the hatchlings were saved by the entire production team.
Every turtle that was seen or filmed by the #PlanetEarth2 crew was collected and put back into the sea.

Last night was the final episode of the extremely popular series; entitled Cities, it looked at the ways animals have adapted to urban life - some not particularly well, as was the case of the turtles.
