According to emerging police reports, a 16-year-old boy has died from stab wounds following an incident in a property in the Lockleaze area of Bristol early this morning.
It is understood that police were called to the scene of a disturbance on Stothard Road at approximately 05.50 am this morning where they discovered a youth with severe knife wounds.
Having been transferred to Southmead Hospital, the teenage boy, whose name has yet to be released to the media, tragically died from his injuries.
Speaking to the press, senior investigating officer, Richard Pegler, confirmed the reports, saying: "This investigation is at a very early stage and we are doing everything possible to determine how the young man died."
Turning his attention to the youth's griefstricken family members, Officer Pegler continued: "We have specially trained family liaison officers who are supporting the young man's family during this difficult time."
A postmortem will be carried out by the Home Office in due course and Stothard Road will remain closed for the forseeable future.
