Big fans of Mr Kipling - can't believe we hadn't heard about these untile we saw them here.
The kids were ecstatic when the delivery arrived (in the morning) I had to do my best to get them to agree to after school testing - otherwise they would've launched in for breakfast.
As soon as they came home from school, we each got a piece of paper and a pencil and set about our testing. (everyone got a small piece of each to test, and could then get a full slice of their favourite - very serious testers in our house)
The first one we tried was chocoloate - as you can imagine, this was a resounidng success. Very nice taste and soft moist cake. We really like this one and it scored a full 10 out of 10.
The second one we tried was banana - I have to fess up here, banana is my least favourite thing, so I was a bit negative at the thought, but it was actually quite nice. And the kids enjoyed it. Unfortunately due to my own taste prefences, it got an 8 out of 10. But that's just my taste.
We tasted the strawberry one next, and the kids then decided that this one was their real favourite, and needed one higher than the 10 they had given the chocolate - so this one scored 11 out of 10!
The Mr Kipling New Milkshake slices are absolutely gorgeous - the perfect sized treat for the kids, and ideal for lunch box or picnic. I had friends over with their kids too and they loved them as well.
They are now firmly on the shopping list, and we have already raved about them to friends and family.
Would highly recommend LOL

Thank you so so much for including us on this trial - we asbolutely LOVED it!
Mr Kipling is very familiar in our house - we are big fans, so I was very excited to test them out. These new milkshake slices are fantastic, I have two kiddies, so it's easy to take out a pack and share, love that about them. They taste gorgeous (as all Mr Kipling cakes do of course) - they are a very close replacement for homecooking in my house, and brilliant to have on hand for unexpected callers.
The hubby and me couldn't decide which ones we liked the best, but the kids were very clear, the chocolate was number 1, closely followed by strawberry and banana which were tied in second.
Will definitely buy again, and have already recommended my mummy friends and my family.
Thanks again for letting us take part.

Thanks for choosing my family to take part in this trial.
I do like cakes, but I must admit I'm a bit of a savoury girl, so I wasn't sure if I'd love thse Milkshake Slices. I do like Mr Kipling cakes, and I certainly know the kids do, but you never know with a new product.
Well, I shouldn't have worried. I let the kids (three of them) choose their slice over a few days - and each time, with each flavour they came back with a resounding 'Mummy - this one is my real true favourite' - so you can take that as a thumbs up from the kids anyway ;)
The hubby and me enjoyed them too - it's nice to have a little treat to look forward to with a cuppa at the end of the day, and these were just the right size - and with just two in a pack, it was just enough. I was quite surprised how much I liked them actually, they were (as the three little bears said) just right.
I will buy these again, it's great to have them in the cupboard for a treat that the kids really love. Would recomend.

We really enjoying testing the Mr Kipling Milkshake slices ... if Mr Kipling needed full time cake testers - we're on board. lol.
The favourite for us was banana - the kids just loved it and asked for more. The really liked the chocoate & vanilla and strawberry too, but banana was number one.
The kids confirm this will be on our shopping list for a treat, and I have already recommended it to mum friends and my family.

I am aware of the Kipling brand we have had the angel and banoffee slices, French fancies. I do tend to choose Mr.Kipling over other brands. My favourite flavour is banana it really does taste like banana milkshake! My children loved trying these new slices, their favourite flavour was strawberry. It's great they contain a source of calcium, these cakes would be great for a snack for after school, the taste of the slices were very nice, wasn't keen on the chocolate as it's quite dry and couldn't really taste the chocolate. The design and colour is very good and well presented. I'd definitely buy the banana and strawberry again and would recommended them to Family and Friends.

We all love a good slice of homemade cake in our family but sometimes we don't have the time to get baking so, when a sweet treat calls, we always look to Mr Kipling. We are great fans of their Angel cake and Bakewell tart slices for a litte indulgence.
As a result we were really excited to have the chance to sample and review these new flavours. We had great fun trying them but, to be honest, we were pretty disappointed.
Chocolate & Vanilla - this one was really dry and the vanilla wasn't strong which is a shame as it is one of my favourite flavours. That didn't stop this being picked as my daughters favourite though!
Strawberry - this one was our least favourite, it simply tasted synthetic. Nothing strawberry about it.
Banana - This was probably the most authentic tasting and wasn't as dry as the chocolate slice but I am not a fan of banana so I wouldn't choose this one.
While they are an infrequent sweet treat it is good to know that the brand is looking to the welfare of their consumers and trying to increase the goodness, ensuring that they are a source of calcium is a plus point.
They are great for lunchboxes simply because of the way they are packaged ensuring they are protected until time to eat them and they keep fresher for longer, I would be unlikely to buy these flavours again but try and keep us away from the others on offer!

I wouldn't recommend these three flavours to friends and family.

We don’t really buy Mr. Kipling in our house as I never really considered them something we’d enjoy. I love baking so I’d often russle up a tray bake and just ice it myself. I always remember the Mr Kipling exceedingly good cakes TV ads – they just didn’t come to mind when I shopped. That has all changed with us trying these milk slices. We received the three varieties and laid them out on the table to figure out what we would try first. So for day 1, we tried the chocolate – we really enjoyed them. The cakes are nice sized portions which are individually packed which I really liked because it meant I just ate the one, instead of 2/3 because the whole pack was open. The kids had them as their afternoon snack after school and they loved them. So on day 1, chocolate received a big thumbs up. We then tried strawberry on day 2 – my kids are fans of strawberry anything so we enjoyed tasting them too. My husband took one to work and his team mates asked if we could get more samples LOL. Finally, we left what was to become our favourite to the last day of our trial. We tried banana – if there is one thing we love its banana anything (am I allowed mention that we ADORE banana ice cream?) so we really liked these the best. So in order of preference, they were banana, strawberry and then chocolate – but really even in writing that I’m being picky. I would definitely buy them again and would recommend them to a friend too.

Really enjoyed trying these cakes out – I love a cuppa in the morning and I enjoying tearing one of these off the pack and peeling open the wrapper. It’s like an extra special treat which goes further than a biscuit. Me and the children tried each variety – my GM isn’t a big sweet person which was kind of handy. Each of us (3 kids and me) had a different variety preference but that’s to be expected. It was pretty even though with one favouriting choc, then another banana and two strawberry fans. The cakes were moist and tasty. I liked the portion pack idea too as it saved me from myself eating too many. I also thought it was good for the children as it meant they just received one – whereas when we have a full cake in the house, they always ask more a second slice. I would definitely buy them again and my sisters are already raging they didn’t get involved so you can take it I’ve recommended them to them.

I’m not a big cake eater – somehow Mr Kipling has never been a brand that I would have bought or tried. I also don’t like bringing cake into the house as I keep it from the kids (wanting to be careful about what they eat and portion control) and from myself too. Sometimes, I’m my own best customer :)
On this occasion, I was happy to try the range as they were individually wrapped which meant I wouldn’t eat them all myself whilst the kids were at school. We tried each flavour – I liked the strawberry best and the kids liked the chocolate. But in saying that we are being picky as we really loved them all. The cakes are dinky sized portions – a slice of cake with just enough icing in the middle and a layer of icing on top. As you’d expect they were moist little slices on heaven. I’d definitely buy them again and I’m now a convert to the brand. Thanks for including me in the trial.

I grew up eating Mr. Kipling cakes - they are brought out on Sundays. My mums loved their vienesse whirls (hope that's the correct name but it's a looooonnnggg time ago) and my dad loved an old almond slice. I haven't really bought them myself as I just never thought of them to be honest but I'm so glad that I have rediscovered them again with this testing trial. The cakes are as good as I remember Mr Kipling cakes to be. They are small and tasty little slices of happiness. Well that's how they made me feel. I enjoyed eating all of them, as did my boys after school. I think they are lovely the way they are wrapped individually so there is no pressure to finish the pack. If I was being greedy, I'd love a passion fruit version (too greedy?). Anyway, thanks for the chance to try them and we will definitely buy them again and recommend the too.

This was really fun to do - when I got home and found the big parcel, there was super excitement in the house. We only give treats on Friday's and the weekends so we did our trial in sequential order Fri., Sat and Sun. Someone else mentioned 'Mr Kiplings exceedingly good cakes' and I remember that too. I don't normally buy them though as they just fell out of my consideration set. We tried a different flavour each day loving the variety. We liked the strawberry most of all but as with the other mums here, that's just personal choice - we seem to all have a different favourite one. The cakes are each wrapped up which was handy. For research purposes only, I did eat two in one sitting whilst watching annoying Jeremy Kyle with the cakes somehow making him more palatable! We've already bought them again since so you can take it as a big thumbs up from our house.

Thank you for letting us test the cakes we has so much fun. We love Mr Kipling cakes.
We hadn't heard about these untill I saw about the trial but will definitely be buying more.
On opening them they all smelt amazing and couldn't wait to eat them, the children loved them all and can't wait to have them again. I really enjoyed them too but did expect them to be a bit more moist, the banana one was my favourite one and wasn't too keen on the chocolate and vanilla one think I would personally prefer that one to be just chocolate but they kids loved them.
They all got half a cake of each flavour to test, my boy age 7 chose banana, my daughter age 5 chose strawberry and youngest age 2 chocolate one.
Perfect size in perfect packaging, it's great they contain an added sauce of calcium. Would use this as a treat for a picnic or our weekly treat but not to often because of the mad sugar rush from the kids haaha but would definitely recommend and will buy some more, thank you.

Thank you for letting us be part of this tasting trial:-

1st) chocolate and vanilla, both my boys agreed they would have liked it to taste a little more of vanilla.

2nd) strawberry weirdly they seemed to think it tasted a bit of banana. This one was not liked in my house.

3rd) banana was a split decision on this one, one really like it and the other not so.

The overall favourite was chocolate and vanilla and we would definetly be buying once out in the shops.

Many thanks

The Hacketts

Cant Praise Mr Kipling enough for their new milkshakes cake range , They are now a firm favorite on the shopping list , My daughters told all her friends at school so i guess they will get their mums to buy them too
