Dakota Johnson, star of controversial new flick Fifty Shades of Grey, attended the star studded event with her mum Melanie Griffith and while being interviewed about the steamy film, the mum and daughter duo did little to hide the tension brought about by the interviewer's questions.
Urged to see her daughter's film by the enthusiastic reporter, Melanie appeared a little uncomfortable, saying: "I don't think I can. I think would be strange."
Unable to hide her irritation, Dakota insisted her mother might see it at some point in the future, but Melanie didn't take the hint and continued to say she didn't intend to book a ticket to the raunchy book adaptation.
Turning to her Oscar-nominated mum, the 25-year-old actress said: "Alright! You don't have to see it! I'm like ' You can see it!' and you're like 'Erm no.' "
Eager to diffuse the tense situation, Dakota's mum quickly said: "If she tells me to see it, I'll see it." Melanie's daughter stayed stony-faced, however, despite her mum's swift change of opinion.
