Rachel Lapierre is truly an inspiration.

The 55-year-old former beauty queen won the Gagnant Lifetime Lottery in 2013, meaning she now receives a $1,000 stipend every week – sounds like a dream, right?

Well, wait until you hear this!

Rachel is going to keep receiving those payments for the rest of her life, but she decided to do something that not many of us would.

Instead of spending her winnings on fancy material possessions or holidays, the Canadian spends all of her money on running a charity and looking after the less fortunate.

She told the BBC, ''it's nice to have a new car, a new home, a new everything. It can really be fun but you don't need that to be happy".

She started her charity, Le Book Humanitaire, when she found out that she won the lottery.

The organisation does accept donations, but the majority of the funding has come out of Lapierre’s own wallet.

“We just try to promote good deeds. It can be a bike, it can be food, it can be transport to go to the hospital. It can even be just listening to somebody on the phone because they are lonely,” Lapierre said.

Social media has shown it's delight in this act of kindless on Rachel's part.

One user commented, ''congratulations Rachel Lapierre for your humanitarian work, the earth needs more people with a heart like yours.''

We think that Rachel is an incredible woman and we wish her all the best in her future charity work.
