Our children grow up learning that, in the face of injustice, responsible adults will step in and come to their aid – so one must be left feeling desperate and hopeless when things don't quite work out that way.

This was clearly the case for Australian student Tayla Sekhmet, a 12-year-old who resorted to launching a change.org petition calling for help to put an end to the bulling that is ‘making her life hell’.

Titled ‘School bullying is killing me, PLEASE, PLEASE HELP’, the petition (link here) shares heart-wrenching details of Tayla’s ordeal at the hands of cruel school bullies.

Launched with the help of mum Kali, the petition outlines how Tayla is ‘the most unpopular kid at school’ – and the shocking verbal, physical and even sexual harassment she faces on a daily basis.

“Every day people call me fatso, weirdo, ugly, freak, and tell me I should kill myself. I've been pushed to the ground, had people go through my bag, or break my scooter when I rode it to school. Even people in other grades who I don't know do these things to me, too,” writes Tayla.

She adds: “Other people in my class throw things at me and film it on their phones. They tell me they're going to upload it to the net.”

In one of the most shocking revelations of the petition, Tayla says that one boy is even sexually harassing her.

So, what have the staff at Dysart State High School done to help? Little to nothing.

“I have told teachers many times, my mum has called the school, and I have had school meetings. None of this is helping. I've been told to just ignore these people, but I can't take it anymore. I don't know what else to do or where else to go for help,” writes a clearly desperate Tayla.

In a final bid for relief from this horrendous bullying, Tayla decided to launch the petition and ask for the help of people all over the world. With their signatures, Talya plans to call on school admin to ‘take a stronger stance against bullying’, and ‘for the Government to stop the school getting away with this’.

The petition has already almost hit its 75,000 target, with Tayla’s harrowing story touching hearts and minds all over the world.

SHARE to spread the word and, hopefully, put an end to this girl’s ordeal.
