There is "grave concern" for two British boys at the centre of a family court case, with both Charlie Clift (five) and Kaiton Warnes (two) feared to have been taken to North Cyprus by their mother. While identities are usually protected in cases like this, a family court judge allowed their names to be released in an attempt to find the two young children.

Both boys are wards of the court and the subject of child protection orders and are now thought to be with their mother, Amelia Warnes and her partner, Jason, who is Kaiton’s father.

Carpenter Dominic Burt, who is Charlie’s father, hasn’t seen his son in months, according to lawyers. Judge Sir Gavyn Arthur says he has "grave concern" for the children’s welfare and has appealed to the public for help finding them.

“Both boys have been made wards of the high court after both were removed from the UK whilst on child protection plans and the subjects of ongoing family court proceedings brought by East Sussex county council,” a statement from the lawyers said.

The family are currently thought to be in Lapta, where Jason has been working. Charlie’s father says the little boy loves "dressing up in Spider-Man and Batman outfits" and "eating cheese".

Judge Sir Gavyn Arthur has ordered Amelia and Jason Warnes to return the children.

Lawyers said Charlie had been "abducted" and added: "If anyone has any information as to the whereabouts of these children please contact Alison Newbold, Solicitor at East Sussex County Council (alison.newbold@eastsussex.gov.uk)."
