Police in Harrogate are urging the public to come forward with information following the gang-rape of a teenage girl in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the 14-year-old girl was snatched by three men who subjected her to a horrifying attack in the town's Valley Gardens, ar Harlow Moor Road, yesterday.
Police officers are currently carrying out "extensive investigations" near the scene of yesterday's assault, but insist that the support and assistance of the wider public is paramount at this time.
Commenting on police progress, Detective Inspector Mark Pearson explained: "The investigation is still in its early stages and I'd appeal to anyone who might know anything, or saw anything suspicious in the area, to contact the police immediately."
Reinforcing the importance of bringing the teen's three assailants to justice, the Detective Inspector continued: "Inquiries are ongoing and we are doing everything we can to find these men, while the victim is being supported by specially trained officers."
