Police in Sussex have appealed to the public for information following the theft of a substantial sum of money which had been collected in aid of a children's charity in Africa.
The incident, which is understood to have taken place in a cafe in Worthing between 2pm on Wednesday December 2nd and 2pm on Thursday December 3rd, saw the loss of hundreds of pounds which was destined for struggling children in Kenya.
The collection box, which was owned by charity Kids 4 Kenya, contained funds which the organisation hoped to use in order to provide food, beds and shower blocks for a nursery in Mtawpa, a town located near Mombasa.
According to reports, police are eager to hear from members of the public who may have information which could lead to the return of the stolen funds.
The public are encouraged to contact Sussex Police if they feel they may be of assistance.
