This is a heartwarming story of how selfless acts can impact people.

Anne Glancey is a retired teacher from New Jersey who lived in a house that began looking very run-down.

Anne also faced $3,000-a-day fines from the local city council as a result of the state of her home.

The retired teacher had no friends or family to call on, but her wonderful neighbours stepped up.

Adam and Kristin Polhemus moved to Anne's town back in 2011, and attempted to befriend and help her.

Anne was struggling with her home, but was too proud to ask her new neighbours for help.

Adam and Kristen went beyond the call of duty and rounded up 25 people to work on Anne's home every weekend this summer.

The good samaritans transformed the front of Anne's home, and saved her over $15,000 in repair costs.

Adam spoke to pulptastic.com about the experience, and said “to see the joy on our neighbour’s face, I think the biggest thing is Anne’s happiness and her kind of restored life. Her outgoingness to other neighbours is based on her house being improved.”

What a beautiful story!
