Children learn in lots of different ways. You might notice your child retains information better through sight or by hearing, reading or through action. In order to discover how your child learns, it’s important that you give them lots of different opportunities to learn in different ways.
 
Children use objects in lots of ways. When you notice your child experimenting, exploring or creating a different range of materials she learns how to solve problems in different situations.
 
Your child doesn’t need the latest expensive toys and gadgets to learn, play and have fun. A simple game of hide and seek, for example, doesn’t need any props and is a great learning opportunity.
 
Children aren’t born with social skills, they have to learn them, just like how they learn to read and write. Giving your child plenty of opportunities to interact with other children is a terrific way to help develop their social skills. Take your child to the playground as he will get lots of opportunities to interact with children his own age in a social setting.
 
Getting your child involved in the local community is also a good educational tool. For example, visiting the local shops, parks, playgrounds and the library will help your child understand how communities work.
