How do I decorate my tweens bedroom on a budget?

Establishing rules about technology in the home can be difficult. Technology, like games consoles, television and the internet shouldn’t affect family time together. It’s important to remind kids that using technology is a privilege, not a right so try to get them into the habit of asking permission to the use the computer, TV etc.

Decide how much screen time is allowed per day. Set a limit Monday to Friday and maybe allow a little more at the weekends.

Set rules and consequences for misusing technology.  If your child won’t turn off the game console, lock it away for a certain period of time.

Keep computers and TV’s limited to just family rooms and don’t allow them in the bedrooms. Some parents confiscate mobile phones before bed too.

Keep it balanced by encouraging them to partake in sports, read a book and spend time with family.
