As you approach your due date many mums start to worry that their lives will be changed forever. While some aspects of your normal daily life will be changed, others won’t be.

Here are seven ways becoming a mother changes you:

You will never sleep properly again

When your little one is born nighttime feeds will keep you awake but this doesn’t change when they row up. Older children will wake you in the middle of the night as they climb in beside you and teens will stop your sleep as you stay awake waiting for them to come in.

Your body will never be the same

No matter how hard you may try your body will never e he way it was pre pregnancy and this is a good thing. Those stretch marks across your stomach are a memory of an incredible journey you and your little one took together.

You will no longer go by your own name

Your name will become obsolete as you become known solely as your mum or as [insert child’s name]’s mum - at doctor appoints, at the school gate and at parent teacher meetings.

You will know what unconditional love feels like

Nobody will ever love your child as much as you do, even if they do something wrong. You will do anything to protect them, even if it means putting aside your own hopes and dreams – but you won’t mind.

You will become overly sensitive to the children of the world

Motherhood causes you to become sensitive to other children and you will likely find yourself trying to help in whatever way you can.

You will be late for work if it means one more hug

You will be less likely to worry about being late for work or an appointment if it means you can get one more hug or kiss from your little one.

You will go out without make-up on

No matter how much you tell yourself that you will never go out without make up on, you will.  All vanity goes out the window when you have your baby’s doctor appointment to make and have only had two hours sleep.
