Mum Theresa Sykes was horrified when her daughter Shirley went into labour at home.

Despite being a mum-of-four herself, Theresa was so freaked that she “slammed” her daughter’s legs closed!

“No freaking way, we’re not delivering a baby, no way,” she said.

But Theresa didn’t get her way as the baby was most definitely on its way.

Realising that she had no clue what she was doing, Theresa rang the emergency services and the operator talked her through the whole thing.

“You’ll want to tie a string tightly around the umbilical cord,” the operator can be heard saying in the below clip.

Straight away, Theresa sets to work. “Get me a shoelace, I need a shoelace,” she says.

It all turned out just fine, and baby Reagan was born perfectly healthy.

While Shirley is proud of how her mum coped delivering her own little granddaughter, she couldn’t help taking a dig at her.

“I told her if I wasn’t in pain, I would have been laughing at her because she was running around like crazy!” she said.

Theresa isn’t bothered though, and is just relieved that her grandchild made it into the world safely.

“Looking back, it was a miracle,” she said.
