A woman from New York has left doctors baffled after she became pregnant despite having had her tubes tied six years ago.
Lorraine, who is already mum to two kids, did not want a third child and so had the surgical procedure to prevent her getting pregnant again.
However, Lorraine, who features on TLC’s My Extraordinary Pregnancy, explained to the show that she told her mum she thought there was something wrong with her body; her mum suggested she take a pregnancy test, despite not believing her daughter could be pregnant.
But having a third child was not Lorraine’s biggest issue; with a BMI of more than 70 she had a significant chance of complications.
“Lorraine’s pregnancy is an extraordinary pregnancy because you’re dealing with a subgroup of patients who we know have a dramatic increase in complications,” her doctor, Robert Silverman, explained.
The show, which will be aired on E4 tonight at 9pm, followed Lorraine through her pregnancy – from scans to delivery.
Thankfully, baby Dallas arrived safe and healthy and the now mum-of-three is adamant that he is DEFINITELY the couple’s last child.
