If our doctor told us to de-stress, we would put the feet up or go for a massage – especially if we were pregnant!

This wasn’t the case recently for US woman Kolby Fahlsing, however, who considers water sports the perfect way to relax.

Kolby was over 40 weeks pregnant when she hit the lake for a spot of ‘wake-surfing’, to remedy the uncomfortable side-effects of pregnancy.

For those of you who don’t know what wake-surfing is, it’s essentially like water-skiing but without being directly pulled along by the boat.

Posting a video of herself wake-surfing while heavily pregnant, 32-year-old Kolby wrote: “I’m super uncomfortable and my legs hurt like none other. It feels like needles stabbing me all over. The swelling. Headaches. Nausea. Heartburn.”

Happily, however, it didn’t take long for her contractions to start, and she went on to give birth to baby son Jake shortly after.

As you can imagine, Kolby’s followers were pretty amazed by the footage, which has now gone viral around the world.

Would you ever consider water sports to get your labour started?
