As people move from one country to another following a job or a dream, it can mean that during one of the most incredible and terrifying times in your life - pregnancy - you can find yourself away from family.

And while having your mum, dad or siblings near you at this time would be lovely, it won’t necessarily happen as you’d expected.

If you have found yourself pregnant and living away, there are plenty of ways you can include the rest of your family in your journey.

Blog

It is fairly easy to set up a blog online through various platforms like Wordpress, Blogger or Tumblr, and by sharing your url with family they can then follow your journey. It is also a great way to record the nine months for yourself so that when Baby is no longer small and sweet, you will be able to look over your blog and reminisce on both the good and bad!

Vblog/ video

If you aren’t much of a writer, why not set up a YouTube channel and share video blogs with the rest of your family. This doesn’t require much effort and can be shared with lots of people at one time. However, if you aren't particularly tech-savvy or interested in going down the YouTube route, why not record your thoughts via the video app on your phone. You can record one a day or just send one at the end of the week or the month – how much you want to share is up to you.

Email

If setting up a blog or doing vblogs seems like too much effort or you are worried about strangers stumbling across it, email is another great way to share your journey. You can send it to numerous people at the same time and can attach pictures without worrying that it will become public knowledge.

Pictures

While they won’t necessarily show your thoughts or how you are feeling, pictures are a great and easy way for family to share in the joys of an ever-growing bump.
